my baby cried!!!!!
my little mr cried at a sad movie for the first time in his little life!!!!! i'm so happy! :) far from home, the adventures of yellow dog. highly recommend it as a family flick! i was bawling (of course, mommy always cries at movies). it was about a lost dog (what could be more sad for a little boy?) and i heard him sobbing out loud!!! real, true sad feelings! i said mr, are you crying? he said i'm so sad! i grabbed him and we cried hard together, it was so sad (though happy for me because it's so good for him)! on the advice of our AT, we've been watching movies with sad parts and trying to almost "rub it in" but really just deepen that sad feeling. they usually laugh and think it's stupid that people are sad (em still did), or sometimes they're just bored and fidgety. but this time, it clicked and he was so sad for that dog!!! what a great moment for his little RADical, sad-deprived brain!!!

We do have a radical blog...it's

Irony: the one you adopted from Ukraine is not RADical but just plain radical!
The one we adopted from Ukraine is RADical. But...it depended on which orphanage, which caregiver, etc. I used to think "if only he'd been in that magical age range I'd wanted, ten to eighteen months old, then we wouldn't have this issue." I now know there are kids adopted far younger than a year old with RAD.
We do have a daughter who was adopted at birth through an open, domestic adoption. She's got ADD and just started on Straterra at the age of 13. I wish we had done this YEARS ago....on my regular, sort of pg-13 me blog, http://ohgoodnightnurse.blogspot.com/ I posted a picture of her with a 100 in math. Amazing difference! Anyway, your bookmarked on my favorites....thanks for keeping it real. I'm so glad your baby cried...wow, that's a weird comment for any other non-rad family.
Yay! Feeling emotions is great!
ahh yes, the laugh over sadness...or pain. The few times I allow my children to watch TV or a movie and there is something even remotely violent of someone getting hurt (nothing worse than G or PG mind you) my two kids with RAD burst out laughing while my son who is borderline scolds them and tells them they are not nice and that was sad. Woo hoo!
COOL! I'm so happy for you.. :)
Yeah, yeah, yeah! A big breakthrough moment!! They are what make this crazy ride worth it. And to think that most of the rest of the world missed how truely marvelous it really was...
OH! This is wonderful!!!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!!
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YEAH!! I know how you were feeling...sitting there crying tears of joy because your baby shows emotional and real sadness. Now try explaining those emotions, lol (I'm so happy you're sad)
Maybe we'll have to break out a sad movie too. Great idea!
